Credit Analyst - Spokane Valley, WA - Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for processing new SBA 504 loan applications, which includes financial analysis, screening for SBA eligibility, and ensuring proper completion of key forms submitted to SBA. The Credit Analyst collaborates as part of a team in gathering, analyzing and recording documentation used for evaluating credit qualification on current and prospective customers by preparing written reports of analysis which include in-depth analysis of financial statements, historical and projection-based cash flow and ratio analysis, suggested credit structure, general industry analysis and identified risks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Works with clients, Business Development Officers and management to analyze loan needs and options available to meet client financial goals.
  • Analyzes credit worthiness of commercial applicants, and guarantors, as appropriate by reviewing loan application, spreading historical and projection based financial statements, calculating cash flows, identifying key risks and conducting research on borrowers and industries.
  • Possesses proficiency relative to credit transactions and analytical skills sufficient to enable independent underwriting of commercial requests for streamlined to moderate complexity requests with moderate guidance from manager.
  • Uses critical thinking to effectively discern information and formulate an appropriate action plan to mitigating credit and industry risks.
  • Analyzes findings and authors a comprehensive report of analysis using a mix of data entry & analysis and written narrative.
  • Assists with annual loan risk ratings by evaluating credit quality through spreading and review of financials and suggesting loans to upgraded or downgraded based on this analysis.
  • Ensures compliance to applicable regulations and keeps up to date with changes in federal regulations and internal credit policy requirements.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain an organized loan file, communicate needs lists effectively to Business Development Officer (BDO), and be responsible for ensuring all pending items are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Understand key eligibility and analysis components relating to SBA 504 lending by utilizing SBA’s Standard Operating Procedures and NWBDA’s Credit Policies and Procedures / Operations Manual when making decisions.
  • Input loan data into the software utilized by the company for submission to SBA.
  • Assist all departments with various tasks relating to each stage of the loan process.
  • Respond timely to emails; accurately prepare, review, and upload internal and external forms; scan and save file documentation.
  • Assist with other requests or duties as requested by management.

Minimum Education &/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field from a four-year college or university; or four years of banking and/or finance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Commercial or SBA lending and/or servicing experience preferred.

Other Skills & Abilities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with financial spread software and SBA 504 Software Ventures+ is desirable. Ability to acclimate quickly to other programs.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to create comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present complex information succinctly and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist - Spokane Valley, WA - Full-Time
 JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for monitoring and servicing of the VENTURES+ tracking/tickler and Paid Loan functions of NWBDA. This involves working with borrowers and third-party lenders to ensure timely receipt of payments, financial statements, and job creation statistics. In addition, the position is charged with providing payoff information, supporting site visitation efforts, and maintenance of proper real and personal property lien filings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • General loan servicing.
  • Monitor tracking/tickler systems for annual financial statements, ensuring all financial information is obtained and sufficient for others to perform a risk rating of each portfolio loan. Ensure all requests for financial statements are promptly and properly communicated to borrowers and/or guarantors if needed. Upload financial information to our data management system (BMI) upon arrival. Work closely with the Portfolio Analyst on any loans with delinquent financial statements.
  • Monitor tracking/tickler systems for UCC finings, ensuring all continuations are filed timely to avoid loss of lien priority.
  • Monitor tasks/tickler system for interim lien releases, ensuring all prior third party liens are released putting NWBDA/SBA in the proper lien position.
  • Monitor tracking/tickler systems for site visitations, ensuring site visits are conducted at the appropriate time for various levels of loan status. Verify that all loans are accounted for on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor tasks/tickler systems to ensure all jobs created or retained are certified by the borrower at the 2 year anniversary of the debenture funding as required by SBA Loan Program Requirements.
  • Prepare accurate payoff statements when requested by borrowers or third parties.0
  • Release all collateral documents within 30 days of receipt of SBA documentation, ensuring proper documentation from SBA is scanned into BMI, with a hard copy in file. You will forward the original documents to the borrower. You will pull and archive the physical files for all loans paid in full;
  • Ensure all duties mentioned above are entered accurately into the Loan Management System (VENTURES+) and the Document Management System, (BMI).
  • Establish tracking/tickler in VENTURES+ for destruction dates of Portfolio files when boxing files up at year end, to include Paid in Full. (Approved by Cancelled, Withdrawn and Cancelled loans are handled in the Processing area.)

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Make recommendations to NWBDA Portfolio Manager for procedural changes to promote efficiencies within the company.
  • Attempt to attend all meetings where your presence is requested by management.
  • Assist with other requests or duties as requested by management.
  • Comply with all Northwest Business Development Association’s policies and procedures.
  • Attempt to attend all training classes/webinars provided by NWBDA that will benefit your current or future positions with NWBDA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:  

  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of Real Estate Title Insurance and Commercial Real Estate lending and documentation
  • Ability to multi-task
