CCS Foundation – Spokane, WA

Mission: The CCS Foundation’s mission is to make the potential possible. With the belief that all students deserve access to a quality, affordable education, they open the path to sustainable economic opportunities for students and create a pipeline of talented individuals to meet the region’s workforce needs. Their work is to provide students to reach their potential. Their efforts are focused on scholarships and emergency aid to CCS’s 20,000 students and program support to CCS’s 120+ programs. More than anything else, though, their students are the future of Spokane’s workforce. Spokane County is the largest labor market in eastern Washington and northern Idaho. CCS is not only the region’s only community college system, the students live, study, and ultimately work here. They are future local nurses, automotive maintenance technicians, chefs, small business owners, teachers, and more.

Grant Funds: The grant funds will support the Tools for Tradespeople Pilot Program initiated by the CCS Foundation. The focus is on furnishing fully equipped first-year machining toolboxes for the machining program. Students will utilize these toolkits throughout their program and retain them upon graduation, ensuring they have their own set of tools for future employment opportunities.

Women’s Resource
Center of North Central
Washington –
Wenatchee, WA

Mission: The Women’s Resource Center provides individuals and families experiencing poverty and homelessness with the housing and supportive services they need to be part of a healthy, diverse community.

Grant Funds: Individuals and families served by Women’s Resource Center of North Central Washington (WRC) are often very low income and are just one emergency away from lapsing into homeless. Grant funds will be used towards micro-loans or grants managed by WRS to assist in getting reliable transportation for work, car repairs, purchase tools or clothing for employment, obtain IDs or other source documents for employment, and/or other expenses to help keep their families healthy and safe. This assistance can mean the difference between a family remaining in homelessness or breaking free.
